MILTON –CurryCollege honored687 graduates from the Class of 2021 on Sunday, May 23.
In his address to classmates, Class of 2021 orator Melvin Wells, of Hamden, Connecticut, asked the class members to reflect on their time at the college as preparation for their future success.
“Although the future is unknown and not promised, there is one thing that is guaranteed," Wells said."The lessons, the experiences, the upsand the downs that you had here atCurryCollege were worth it and provided us with the tools and knowledge to be successful at anything we apply our hearts and minds to.”
Hailey DeCoffe, of Lakeville;Gwendolyn Kalian, of Warwick, Rhode Island; and Emily Mathers and Samantha Swerdlow, of Cumberland, Rhode Island, were named as traditionalundergraduate valedictorians.
Jessica Emo, of Haverhill, and Kelsie Rainone, of Plainville, were named salutatorians of their class. Jessica Maguire, of South Dennis, was the continuing education student valedictorian, and Gary Walsh, of Pembroke, was the continuing education student salutatorian.
Rachel Dumond, of Saugus, received the 2021 New Era Award. The award is presented to a graduating senior who contributed the most to the enrichment of the class and the college at large.
“This ceremony symbolizes the embarking of a new journey and the start of our careers,” graduate Brandon Clay said in a statement. “It feels so amazing to be able to gather with all of my close friends and family during such a hectic year."
The graduation ceremony was livestreamed for those who could not attend.
